About: Inspired by the 1960 Federico Fellini film of the same name, La Dolce Vita, sees the muse bombarded by a group of dedicated paparazzi aiming to capture her every move. Aesthetically, the shoot takes inspiration from Hollywood’s golden era. The Marilyn-like figure’s disinterest in the cameramen juxtaposes their fixation on capturing the starlet. The images pose the question, why does Hollywood iconography so enthrall us? Can this devotion be compared to religious worship?
Process: Just like, ‘Ode to Dietrich’ Milan oversaw every detail of the shooting process. From casting, styling, shooting, to editing he worked closely with different teams to make La Dolce Vita flourish. The Moodboard/ Pitch for the project is shown below.
Outcome: La Dolce Vita appeared in the Fall/ Winter issue of VIM Magazine.
